HEMOSAFE® is the next generation system for remote blood management; it works under the most stringent conditions of safety through a dedicated S/W linked to the hospital or Blood Center databases.
This half a day workshop was mainly dedicated to the simulation of the real communication between a remote Hemosafe and a Blood Center. A dual screen showed the data inserted by the Blood Center and simultaneously the status of the local HEMOSAFE® following the real procedures to handle the blood bags (access, authorization, bar code reading, bags loading/unloading). All the official forms accompanying the bag were prepared by a dedicated printer connected to HEMOSAFE® together with the log and report files tracing all the operations.
During the workshop AS Scientific Director, Dr Leonardo Cappelletti, had the possibility to answer the specialists questions and to successfully explain the main advantages of HEMOSAFE® as a system that substantially reduces (up to 70%) the costs of the blood transportation, minimizes and simplifies the flows of the unused bags, assures the optimal use of the qualified personnel and significantly increases the security, safety and reliability of blood handling.
